Jesus Christ, I haven’t been here since summer. But it doesn’t feel that long, actually, and it doesn’t even feel like Christmas’ by the door, also.
What the hell.

So a lot has happened since I last updated ( a lot of which is the reason I left this place intact ), but I guess you could say I’m back on track; and if there’s something that screams updates real loud is screaming ”Updates!” even louder.

Here’s something I finished a couple of weeks ago. Took me a whole afternoon and I know there are a lot of anatomical mistakes, but the point here was to practice coloring.

Feels like I’m loosing my sense of color (or maybe I never had one).

So a couple of days ago I tried to paint something using Oil Pastels for the second time ( first try was years ago and I probably ended traumatized, which probably explains why I never picked them up again to this day and do not seem to remember some sort of trauma. Repressed memories, am I right?)

On a side note, I’m pretty sure that ‘oil pastels’ is just a fancy name for ‘wax pencils’. They don’t look exactly the same, but while painting with them I felt kind of nostalgic. They feel the same.

That’s right, wax pencils. The ones you used back in grade school that you tried to eat because they looked so tasty even though the teachers said it’s dangerous and that you shouldn’t, remember?

Back to the main topic, oil pastels are pretty cool to paint with. And if it interests you the least, I had tried to paint with them a long time ago. But at that time the pastels where hard ( literally ) probably because it was cold, so it was really hard to manage them. Plus I had no idea what I was doing, and I sucked, so cut me some slack.

I decided to record what I did. Be warned, the quality sucks, and for that I am sorry. (will upload video later)

Here’s the finished work.

And here’s the old work.

Image

Started watching Ergo Proxy and after 9 episodes, I gotta say, I’m hooked. I really wanted to bless my desktop with the wonderful miracle of having an Ergo Proxy background purifying my working place, but I hesitated a bit looking up wallpapers on google. So since I didn’t want to get spoiled, I ended up doodling up something that ended pretty awesome, I think. Needless to say, I’m glad I spent my afternoon on this. Totally worth it.

So a couple of days ago I decided to do some cleaning on my room. Of course, the picture that you see below does not show my working place, but the midst of the cleaning ( yes, at 10 PM or so ), because I do not work with my rug taped backwards, unless, of course, there’s some sort of special occasion.

Image

So as all the cleanings go by tradition, I found a bucket load of old drawings of mine, back when I was 8-14 ( being most of them when I was 9-12 yoho )

Image

First drawings of one of my ”original” characters. This was around the time FMA became an anime, and I was really into all that alchemy and shorty stuff. I would use those ‘angry faces’ seen in FMA constantly and unnecessarily.

Image

Since a young age I loved dragons. Was constantly drawing them. I eventually stopped when I reached 7th grade.

This one was when Blizzard started a contest. You had to draw Arthas. The winner would get a life size frostmourne replica. Boy, were my hopes high, huh? Good luck pal!

This one is probably the oldest drawing in the blog ( huzzah for records! )

It’s a sort of a sign that I put up for a short amount of time on my door, to keep people from entering my room ( as you can imagine, it didn’t work ).

Remember that episode of the simpsons where Homer joins the Stonecutters secret society? Here’s a link for it http://images.wikia.com/simpsons/images/a/ae/Ar.jpg

He then got expelled for eternity for messing up. Basically, we have No.1 telling Homer that he was expelled and that he should never come back. Yeah, that was my way of keeping people from my room.

Jumping a little bit into the future, I was 11-12.

In my late 13s and so forth.

Tried to be realistic when drawing Cloud Strife. Well, I tried.

My World of Warcraft character, Skaedi.

Then we have this awesome guy.

Done this when I was 14. Was so proud at the time.

Image

Not exactly tidied, but it works for now.

Congratulations, somehow, you managed to reach the bottom of this post. And all of this that you seen is (surely) not even 1/10 of the amount of all the drawings I have ever made since I was 8 and forth.

And if there’s something that cannot be dismissed is a warm summer  afternoon, which I’ve yet to experience, since the weather here doesn’t seem to want to collaborate. Which is why, while waiting for them perfect afternoons, I drew Mero with Babu, because she friggin’ and simply rules.

Sankarea (さんかれあ) (c) Mitsuru Hattori

A project I did some weeks ago for philosophy. Everyone ( well, those who attend the class ) had to decorate a shoe(s) in a way that would describe the path that philosophers walk (or the path that we walk with philosophy, something like that. I don’t remember), that or we could simply decorate it for aesthetic purposes. I’m not sure which one I chose…

Done with shoe and water based clay.

Tried different spot lights (couldn’t use camera’s flash because you could barely see the drawing).

The quality of the pics suck, I know, and for that I am sorry. As a token of forgiveness, please enjoy this wonderful comic done by someone whose name I do not know.
